Growing up with parents who ran a hotel and then working in restaurants from my early teens well into my 20’s has created a passion for travel, people, food and cooking.
It seems like a natural step to now share ZorbaZen House with my wife Jivan. Having a house in Greece had been on my mind for many years and soon after I met Jivan, we quickly realized we shared the same dream! It wasn’t long before we found the most beautiful place we had ever seen: ZorbaZen House in the tiny village of Kerames, Crete.
For the last 15 years I have been working with organizational and individual development and as a therapist. I have also translated a number of books in the fields of religion, self-development and popular psychology. Among the authors I have worked are His Holiness Dalai Lama, Neale Donald Walsh and Osho.
Combine the above with a deep interest in nature and wildlife and physical activity and you have pretty much what ZorbaZen House is about for me. A place where you can simultaneously experience relaxation, meditation and peace, along with great food, social fun, meeting new people, wonderful hikes and beach life.
I speak English, Svenska, Norsk, ein bisschen Deutsch … and I am working on my Greek!
When I first visited ZorbaZen House, I had tears in my eyes. I knew this was a very healing place where celebration and relaxation meet so perfectly.
The pristine Nature of the house’s surroundings, the sound of the sheep, the uninterrupted sea and mountain views, and the kindness and generosity of the local villagers instantly touched me. The simplicity of it all was what I longed for.
I knew I was home.
Now I can do what I love most in my favourite place on earth! I can share this magical place with all! I love nothing more than to host old friends and new, cook for them, take them for hiking and gourmet tours, and offer a number of therapies I have been trained in, including Inner Man/Inner Woman, Family Constellation, Somatic Experiencing, The Journey, Reflexology & Thai Yoga Massage.
Born by Greek parents in Montreal, Canada, the Greek culture and language has always been very special to me. I have spent many summers on different islands and in northern Greece near Thessaloniki, where I have my roots and many relatives. Now in South Crete, a new chapter is beginning in my life, and I feel blessed to be able to share it with you all.
We love this place, and we love to meeting and work with new people. As part of ZorbaZen House and the different activities we like to give our guests the opportunity to try when we are here, we are also happy to offer different forms of physiotherapy (massage), coaching and counselling, for individuals, couples and groups. Read more under Retreats. When you stay at ZorbaZen House you are giving yourself the gift of something that can become much deeper and more fulfilling than the ”normal vacation”.
